Pile & Jetty Inspection/Cleaning
Piles and structures are cleaned with either HP water jetting, hydraulic barnacle buster or hand tools to allow inspection and maintenance to be undertaken. We are familiar with WSCAM inspection requirement and Transport and Main Roads, Structures Inspection criteria.
Pile Restoration
Abyss is able to provide a number of pile treatments and restoration depending on the pile and structure materials and condition including QuakeWrap and Denso.
Moorings
Moorings need to be designed to calculate in the length of the vessel, weight, configuration and mooring location together with bottom composition, current, water depth, expected wind, waves, currents and regulations for the area. Moorings vary from concrete blocks to anchor configurations, enviro screw anchors etc. We can advise on the one that best suits your requirement and give you a quote.
Tank Inspections & Maintenance
Potable water and fire prevention systems require regular inspection and maintenance as per Australian Standards. Abyss is able to provide an inspection and report either by utilising our ROV or Commercial divers.
Lock Maintenance/Inspection
After 30 years’ experience in maintaining and inspecting Lock Gates, Abyss is able to provide clients with accurate information and recommendations for the maintenance of lock gates before problems occur and therefore saving money and resources.
Pipe Plug Install
Pipe balloons or plugs are required to dewater areas for construction or inspection. Divers first inspect the pipe for marine growth and siltation and clean out if required, failure to do this may damage the plug or even worse may rupture the plug or cause it not to seal. Correct procedures need to be followed to ensure the safety of all. Abyss ensures that all necessary steps are taken.
Underwater Concreting
Underwater concreting is a critical concreting process performed for offshore construction. It involves the process of carefully placing fresh concrete underwater. As construction in water results in many difficulties, the start to end of an underwater construction requires special care, supervision and planning. For example, the construction of the foundation and piles to support the bridge crossing a river, or a dock construction.
Surveyed Work Vessel
The “Abyss Dive” is a versatile dive and work vessel which allows us to undertake dive projects, vibracore sampling, dredging, construction, cutting, welding, pipe and jetty maintenance, ships inspections and with an Exemption 40 certification plus 2C survey can operate anywhere in Australia. Additional features include certified lifting points for remote access deployment and a lifting “A” frame.
HD Video, Photo and Editing
Diving projects have become a visual exercise for clients who expect to see what’s going on underwater. Fortunately, modern video and digital photo equipment is compact and provides sharp images which can be transferred to the client on site or easily edited on the camera or computer. Clients can view live footage of what is in the water either via ROV or diver.
Confined Space Diving
Diving projects sometimes require entry into confined spaces such as manholes, tanks, chambers and pipes. Abyss have Confined space trained divers and equipment to make the job easy and safe plus HSE procedures.
