Ship & Vessel Inspection/Maintenance

Lifting a vessel out of the water for inspection or maintenance is a very expensive and is often unnecessary. Props, anodes, inlets, rudders etc can usually be inspected, cleaned or replaced underwater at a fraction of the cost. Abyss also offers specialist services such as Invasive Species Surveys by qualified Marine Biologists, a requirement to enter and leave some Australian Ports.

Underwater Construction

From large wharfs to small domestic infrastructure having the right equipment is key to getting the job done. Lifting, cutting, welding, chain sawing, dredging, drilling equipment etc are all on tap at Abyss Diving to get things moving.

U/W Demolition

Underwater demolition often requires a combination of U/W tools and equipment from BROCO, jackhammers, grinders, excavators to name a few. We are able to advise on the best and most efficient method to ensure the job goes smoothly and under budget.

Vibracore Sampling

Vibracoring is a method used to extract samples of unconsolidated sediment cores. Vibracoring is a versatile sampling methodology and can work in various water depths, it is most often used in underwater or wetland locations e.g. in a shallow coastal area.

Environmental Services

Abyss provides environmental support services such as piston sampling, grab sampling, benthic sled etc either from our vessel or terrestrial areas.

Broco Cutting/Welding

What commercial diver doesn’t enjoy cutting steel and rock with a rod burning at 10,000 degrees C underwater. We are well equipped and ready for any cutting, demolition or welding job.

Marine salvage is the process of recovering a ship and its cargo after a shipwreck or other maritime casualty.

ROV Surveys

ROV surveys provide an economical means of inspecting underwater structures, pipes, tanks etc sometimes in areas that divers can’t access. Abyss often conducts a preliminary inspection of a proposed diving job site to ascertain required assets and equipment to do the work.

Potable Water Diving

Dedicated dive spread of equipment specifically for diving in Potable water. Comprehensive procedures for cleaning of the dive equipment to meet health and Government standards. All repair products are potable water approved.
